Information for Librarians

The European Hebrew Journal (EHJ) is an international, peer-reviewed Open Access journal dedicated to Hebrew Language Studies, Jewish Studies, Semitic Linguistics, Biblical Philology, Old Testament, Textual Criticism, Dead Sea Scrolls studies, and related interdisciplinary fields.

We warmly encourage university and research libraries to include EHJ in their catalogues and electronic journal collections, making its content more easily discoverable by researchers, faculty members, and students.

EHJ provides:

  • Immediate Open Access to all published articles, without registration, payment, or embargo;
  • No subscription or access fees for readers or libraries;
  • No fees, surcharges, hidden costs, or mandatory paid services for manuscript submission, editorial assessment, publication, or access;
  • Crossref DOIs for published scholarly content within the scope of the DOI Policy;
  • Discoverability through international indexing services.

Authors retain copyright. Scholarly articles are published under CC BY 4.0, which permits copying, redistribution, and adaptation, including commercial reuse, subject to the licence terms. Any excluded third-party material must be clearly identified. See the Copyright and Licensing Policy.

Preservation and Voluntary Support

DOIs, indexing services, and catalogue records support identification and discovery; they do not themselves preserve full texts. The current status of preservation arrangements is described in the Publication Policies.

Library listing, access, and reuse under the article licence require no donation or payment. Donations are entirely voluntary and have no influence on editorial or publication decisions. Full details are in the Open Access and Fees policy.

Optional paid advertising is separate from scholarly publishing and library access. It confers no influence over editorial decisions and is governed by the Advertising and Editorial Independence policy.
