The European Hebrew Journal (EHJ) is committed to the principles of open scholarly communication and unrestricted access to academic knowledge.
EHJ provides immediate, permanent, and free access to all published content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports the global exchange of knowledge and advances scholarship in Hebrew studies, philology, linguistics, textual criticism, manuscript studies, Jewish studies, theology, and related interdisciplinary fields.
All articles published in EHJ are accessible online without subscription fees, institutional barriers, or paywalls.

Immediate Open Access
EHJ operates under a full open access publishing model, meaning:
• all published articles are freely available immediately upon publication;
• readers may access, download, read, cite, and share articles without charge;
• no embargo periods apply.
The journal believes unrestricted access increases:
• visibility of research;

• international academic collaboration.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)
At present:
EHJ does not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs).
Authors are not required to pay:
• submission fees;
• review fees;
• publication fees;
• processing fees.
Publication decisions are based exclusively on scholarly merit.

Readers may:
• read articles freely;
• download published material;
• distribute links to published works;
• cite and reference content according to academic standards;
• use published research in accordance with the applicable licensing conditions.
Proper attribution to authors and original publication remains mandatory.

Authors retain copyright of their work and are encouraged to:
