Call for Papers — European Hebrew Journal (EHJ) Volume 2 Issue 1 (2027)

The European Hebrew Journal (EHJ) invites original scholarly submissions for its Volume 2  issue 1 and welcomes contributions from university faculty, researchers, independent scholars, and doctoral candidates worldwide.

EHJ is an international peer-reviewed open access journal, published by the Institute for Hebrew Language and Literature, dedicated to rigorous interdisciplinary research in Hebrew studies, Jewish studies, philology, manuscript traditions, Semitic linguistics, theology, and related humanities disciplines.

The journal encourages submissions in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Ancient, Biblical, Medieval, Rabbinic, and Modern Hebrew
  • Hebrew linguistics, morphology, syntax, semantics, and lexicography
  • Semitic linguistics and comparative language studies

All submissions undergo rigorous double-blind peer review.

Submission Deadline

The deadline has been extended from 30 September to 15 October 2026. This is the final extension. The Call for Papers for Volume 2, Issue 1 (2027) closes after 15 October 2026; no further extensions will be granted.
