Abstract

The increasing specialization of contemporary scholarship has produced a situation in which research on Hebrew language, philology, manuscript traditions, textual criticism, Semitic linguistics, Jewish history, archaeology, and related fields is often published within separate disciplinary venues. Although these areas share many primary sources and methodological concerns, opportunities for sustained scholarly interaction remain limited.

The European Hebrew Journal (EHJ) was established to provide a peer-reviewed international venue for research on Hebrew language and literature, Jewish and Israeli studies, biblical and post-biblical texts, manuscript cultures, and related disciplines. The journal welcomes contributions based on primary sources, philological analysis, historical investigation, and interdisciplinary approaches relevant to the study of Hebrew and Jewish traditions.

By bringing together research from a range of interconnected fields, the journal seeks to facilitate scholarly exchange and promote the wider dissemination of original research in Hebrew Studies.
